BREAKDOWN: I was a Sr. Visual Designer at Amplify Games and Amplify Learning for 5+ years. One title that I am particularly fond of is called Declare Yourself, and I found working on the UI to be deeply satisfying.

CASE STUDY: 2D ART FOR AMPLIFY LEARNING

DAILY ROLE: I spent the last few years of my time at Amplify, working with an amazing group of people on something called the Quest Team. A team that could handle any type of software development they were handed. My role was something between visual designer, and production artist, and I worked on most things there involved 3D modeling or hybrid 2D/3D Art.

BACKGROUND ILLUSTRATION - VIKINGS

Under the design direction of the Quest team and Jean Pierre Dillard, I helped to craft the backgrounds for a viking related Quest for the core learning title.

CASE STUDY: FREEVERSE - DRAGON QUEST

DAILY ROLE: I was typicaly a 3D artist for Freeverse, but painted backgrounds and did some early character concepts for the mobile title Dragon Quest.

BREAKDOWN: Typically I worked on characters at Freeverse, but thanks to the fearless leadership of The Smith Brothers, and Kevin O'Neill, I was sometimes able to branch out and work on other areas, like these UI screens.

CASE STUDY: KID GAMES INTERACTIVE

BREAKDOWN: In 2010, with one of my oldest friends, I started a software company to make games for iOS device. We had both just become fathers, and we wanted to start by making something for them. Our first series, which garnered over 100k downlaods, was COunting with Bear and Duck. A clean simple app with thinking, rather thank education, as its goal.

Counting with bear and duck, had several releases but essentially you assended in a baloon and had to choose numbers or letters in order to proceed. We worked with a great coder names Sky Coyote. Thank you Sky Coyote!

CASE STUDY: IBM / EDMARK

BREAKDOWN: I moved to Seattle and wanted to work in Games. I had just spent two years at a game company in Hawaii (EnvironMedia - Monoe Innovation Center, 1996), and an interview at Sierra On-line lead me to IBM. The founders of Monolith where rhumored to have worked here so I jumped at the opportunity. It was a great place to work.
