STUDIO: FREEVERSE
TITLE: FANTASTIC FISH
ROLL: 3D CHARACTER ARTIST
PLATFORM: iOS GAME
TOOLS: MAYA, PHOTOSHOP
DURATION: 10 MONTHS (between 2008-2011)

Of all the games I worked on at Freeverse, FANTASTIC FISH was my favorite to make and to play. I got into breeding and upgrading my tank. It was a lot of fun.

I enjoyed working on shared IP as well, using elements from the WE RULE game franchise to breed WE RULE style fish.

Technically, this many animated fish of different shapes and sizes was challenging, but it was offset by the fun of painting the textures and seeing them swim in their world.

As you played the game, you got better and better reward fish, which meant more interesting models for us to make.

The peace manatee was awesome, but a littel big for the tank.

But nothing competes with this guy from the deep depths of the dark ocean. Shout out to this amazing team, Ian Smith, Bruce, Kevin, Denise, our remote programmer who wrote scripts for keeping track of key frame ranges in Maya, Pat, and others I will add when I have time to make sure I remember them correctly.

STUDIO: AMPLIFY (WIRELESS GENERATION/NEWS CORP)
TITLE: ARC
ROLL: 3D CONCEPT/PROTOTYPE ARTIST
PLATFORM: MOBILE iOS/ANDRIOD
TOOLS: MAYA, PHOTOSHOP, UNITY
DURATION: 8 MONTHS (between 2012-2016)

For the prototype game exploration of the AMPLIFY game ARC, we took time to envision the types of game play that could emerge if robots were left alone on a space station for too long on their own. The concept here is form that exploration. A robot Lord of the Flies type of game.

It's comical now, but when your vaccum cleaner starts sharpening stones, you better take it seriously!

Some of these models were renders and nothing more but some were rigged and made it into the tablet based prototypes we built to explore camera anges and the feel of our ideas. If you take a minute to look through the game art section you'll find some renders from those prototype games. Shout out to Laura and Mo for knowing the value of creative branstorming and exploration!!

STUDIO: ANIMATION COLLECTIVE
CLIENT: NICKELODEON
TITLE: KAPPA MIKEY (SEASONS 1 & 2)
ROLL: 3D SET MODELER / 3D CHARACTER ARTIST
PLATFORM: TELEVISION
TOOLS: MAYA, AFTER EFFECTS, PHOTOSHOP, FLASH
DURATION: 2 YEARS (between 2005-2007)

For one episode of KAPPA MIKEY a motorcycle came alive and was hell bent on revenge. He was pretending to be MIKEY'S friend but he was secretly plotting him revenge! I put the eyes on this motorcycle and rigged it for the animation. I set up the mouth blend shapes, and in the end I ALSO got to do the animation, for all of the lip synch shots where he and mikey were talking. Putting the acting into that face was so fun.

I also modeled and rigged a team of baseball playing super robots for the show, and some robot zobmies not shown here.

CLIENT: SHOPKICK
ROLL: 3D ARTIST
PLATFORM: ADVERTISING
TOOLS: MAYA, PHOTOSHOP
DURATION: 1 MONTH (2013?)

This company is a mystery to me. I don't recal how they got in touch with me. I did all of the work remotely so I never met them. I never saw the add and their company I really can't seem to be able to figure out what thay do or find them!! But I enjoyed modeling and rigging this little character for their commercials. The mouth and facial details were a challenge as they were flat graphics that had to change when smiling, talking, etc. I did that with textures. You can see the simple rig in the images.
